Today I peered out my bedroom and realized I would have to travel through Arendelle from Frozen to get to my test at ten o'clock. The roads were slick, and the fog hung like a frosty cloud. Still, it was hushed enchantment. It made me think of some things the Bible says about snow.

God sends Snow.
The Lord God is sovereign over nature. Nothing escapes His power and He is the One who releases the storehouses of snow.

"He gives snow like wool; He scatters the frost like ashes."
Psalm 147:16

"For to the snow He says, 'Fall on the earth,'
And to the downpour and the rain, 'Be strong.'"
Job 37:6

"Have you entered the storehouses of the snow,
or have you seen the storehouses of the hail?"
Job 38:22

"He casts forth His ice as fragments; who can stand before His cold?"
Psalm 147:17

"Praise the Lord from the earth,
Sea monsters and all deeps;
Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
Mountains and all hills; Fruit trees and all cedars . . .
 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above earth and heaven."
Psalm 148:7-9, 13

God's Word is sent like the Snow.
When snow falls, it's going to water the earth. When God's Word falls, it's going to do whatever God desires.

"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
and do not return there without watering the earth
and making it bear and sprout,
and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
so will My word be which goes forth from My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
without accomplishing what I desire,
and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:10-11

My sins are white as Snow.
On the way home from taking my test, the sunlight danced on the snow, highlighting the brightest, purest color white I could imagine. My sins are white like that. What, that's crazy?! My dark, ugly sins? This is only because I've been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ.

"'Come now, and let us reason together,' says the Lord,
'Though your sins are as scarlet,
they will be white as snow,
though they are red like crimson, they will be like wool.'"
Isaiah 1:18

"Purify me with hyssop,
and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."
Psalm 51:7
What else does the Bible say about snow? Someone killed a lion on a snowy day. The Proverbs 31 woman is not afraid of snow for he household. Lepers look like snow. Check out some other snow references here: Numbers 12:10, 2 Samuel 23:20, 1 Chronicles 11:22, Job 6:16, Job 9:30, Proverbs 26:1, Proverbs 31:21, Daniel 7:9, Matthew 28:3, Revelation 1:14
